Dolphin Lagoon is a massive 1.6 mega litre pool, featuring both varying depths and underwater viewing, which is the home of our dolphin family at Dolphin Marine Magic.
Dolphin Lagoon is filled with natural sea water which is topped up daily from the ocean at each high tide. The water is constantly turned over through the park's state of the art, low energy consumption filtration plant where a small amount of chlorine is also added to the water to help remove any pathogens that may be harm the animals.
Dolphin Lagoon also features the only underwater viewing into a dolphin pool anywhere in Australia with six large windows giving guests the opportunity to view the dolphins as they swim and play in the deepest section of the pool.
With the length of an Olympic swimming pool, a depth of 3.75m and 1.6 million litres of water volume, Dolphin Lagoon exceeds the size required by the NSW exhibition of dolphin standards, which are actually some of the most stringent standards in the world, giving our family of Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins plenty of room to swim, play and splash around!
Outside of Marine Magic presentation times, guests are welcome to stand at the side of our dolphin pools and pat and play with our dolphin family. These interactions are always conducted under the supervision of one of our friendly Marine Mammal Specialists who are always happy to answer any questions you have about the the animals at Dolphin Marine Magic or introduce you to our dolphin family and show you how we tell each of the dolphins apart.
